Carl is a Professor at Syracuse University and former President of the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation. 

He carries a wealth of knowledge in U.S. healthcare operations and significant experience in building and scaling businesses successfully in the region. 

Carl founded the nation’s first healthcare finance research center at The Johns Hopkins University, in addition to founding five other companies and serving in major corporate roles across numerous industries.  

Through his variety and depth of experience in healthcare, business, public policy and academia, he is recognized as a respected thought-leader in healthcare finance, regulation, and insurance.
